Born on June 20, 1954, in Travnik. He completed primary school and high school in Travnik, and then graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sarajevo, specializing in experimental biology at the University of Sarajevo.

Since 1979, he has worked in the hospital, first as a medical biochemist and later in biochemical-hematological diagnostics. From 1983 to 1986, he taught medical biochemistry exercises at the Mixed Secondary School in Travnik.

He enrolled in postgraduate studies in 1985/1986 at the University of Zagreb, focusing on Pharmaceutical-Biochemical Medical and Natural Sciences. He obtained the title of Master of Science in the field of medical biochemistry with the thesis “Investigation of the Biological Availability of Amoxicillin.”
